Donatefy shares your concerns about privacy. This policy explains what personal information we receive, how we use and share it, our security measures, and includes other important privacy information about storage, access, deletion and the choices you have.
Capitalized words that are not defined in this Privacy Policy will have the meaning defined in the Donatefy Terms of Service.

This Privacy Policy explains how Donatefy (“Donatefy,” “we,” “us,” “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use our websites, applications, and related services (the “Services”).
1) Information We Collect
We collect information in three ways: (A) information you provide, (B) information collected automatically, and (C) information from third parties.
A) Information you provide
Depending on how you use the Services, you may provide:
- Account information: name, email address, phone number, organization name, login credentials.
- Profile and administrative information: user roles/permissions (for organizations), preferences.
- Donation and transaction information: donation amount, frequency (one-time/recurring), campaign, receipt/tax receipt details, billing address (as required).
- Support communications: messages you send to us and any attachments you provide.
- Content uploads: logos, images, and text you upload for your organization or fundraising pages.
B) Information collected automatically
When you use the Services, we may automatically collect:
- Device and usage data: device type, operating system, app version, browser type, pages/screens viewed, actions taken, referring URLs (web), and similar usage data.
- Log and diagnostic data: crash reports, performance logs, error logs.
- Identifiers: IP address and device identifiers needed to operate and secure the Services.
- Approximate location: derived from IP address (not precise GPS unless you explicitly enable a feature that requires it).
C) Information from third parties
We may receive information from:
- Payment processors (e.g., Stripe): transaction status, partial payment details, fraud signals, and necessary billing fields.
Note: We do not store full payment card numbers when processing is handled by the processor. - Service providers: analytics or crash reporting providers may provide aggregated or diagnostic information.
2) How We Use Information
We use information to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Services
- Create and manage accounts and access controls
- Process donations/payments and send confirmations/receipts
- Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security issues
- Provide customer support and respond to requests
- Analyze performance and usage to improve reliability
- Communicate service updates and administrative notices
- Comply with legal obligations (e.g., tax, accounting, regulatory requests)
3) How We Share Information
We share information only as needed to run the Services:
A) With service providers
We share information with vendors who help us operate the Services (e.g., hosting, storage, email delivery, customer support tools, analytics, payment processing). They may access information only to perform services for us and must protect it.
B) With organizations you donate to (where applicable)
If you donate to an organization using Donatefy, we may share your donation details with that organization (e.g., name, email, donation amount, receipt info) so they can administer the donation and issue acknowledgements.
C) For legal, compliance, and safety reasons
We may disclose information to comply with law, protect rights and safety, investigate fraud, or enforce our Terms.
D) Business transfers
If Donatefy is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Policy.
4) Analytics
We may use analytics and diagnostics tools to understand how the Services are used and to improve performance, reliability, and user experience. We do not sell personal information and we do not serve third-party ads in the Services.
5) Your Choices and Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to:
- Access your information
- Correct inaccurate information
- Request deletion of your account and personal information (subject to legal/legitimate retention needs)
- Opt out of marketing communications (if applicable)

To request deletion, email info@donatefy.org with subject “Account Deletion Request”. We may verify your identity before completing the request.
6) Data Retention
We retain information only as long as necessary to:
- provide the Services
- meet legal, tax, accounting, and compliance requirements
- resolve disputes and enforce agreements
- prevent fraud and abuse
When information is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it unless retention is required by law.
7) Security
We use reasonable safeguards designed to protect information, including:
- encryption in transit (TLS/SSL)
- access controls and least-privilege permissions
- monitoring and security practices appropriate to the nature of the data
- No method of transmission or storage is fully secure.
8) International Transfers
If you use the Services from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States and other countries where we or our service providers operate. We take steps to protect transfers as required by applicable law.
9) Children’s Privacy
The Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child provided personal information, contact info@donatefy.org.
10) Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version and revise the Effective Date. If changes are material, we may provide additional notice (e.g., in-app or via email).

We collect personal information when you provide it to us and when we receive it through your use of our Services. This includes:

If you sign up for a Donatefy account or participate in a promotion or incentive program, or request information from us, we may ask for personal information, like your name, email address, telephone number, and certain financial information.
Information we get from your use of our Services.
We may collect personal information about the Services that you use and how you use them, like when you visit our website and interact with our ads and content. This information includes:
- Device information. We may collect device-specific information (such as your hardware model, operating system version, unique device identifier, and mobile network information). Donatefy may associate your device identifiers or phone number with other personal information associated with your Donatefy account.
- Log information. When you use our Services or view content provided by Donatefy, your device and browser automatically transmit certain information to us that we store in server logs. This information may include your IP address, device event information such as crashes, system activity, hardware and software settings, browser type, browser language, the date and time of your request and referral URL, cookies that may uniquely identify your browser or your Donatefy account, and other details of how you used our Service.
- Location information. We may collect and process information about your actual location, like GPS signals sent by a mobile device. We may also use various technologies to determine location, such as sensor data from your device that may, for example, provide information on nearby Wi-Fi access points and cell towers. You can manage location preferences on your device.
- Local storage. We may collect and store personal information locally on your device using mechanisms such as browser web storage (including HTML 5) and application data caches.
- Cookies and anonymous identifiers. Donatefy uses cookies and similar technologies. Please see our section on cookies and Third Party Data Tracking below.
- Information from Other Sources. Information that we collect or receive from Facebook and/or other sites on which you have used the Service in accordance with their terms of use and privacy policies and applicable law.
How we use Personal Information
- To provide, maintain, and improve the Services and to develop new ones;
- To provide customized content and recommendations;
- To conduct research on how users engage with our services and
- To protect Donatefy and our users. We use personal information to deter and minimize fraud and abuse and to help keep our Services safe.
- To respond to inquiries. We may keep a record of your communication to help solve any issues you might be facing.
- To communicate with you. We may use your email address or mobile number to inform you about our Services, such as letting you know about upcoming promotions, changes or improvements or to market new features or offerings to you.
- To verify your identity; to investigate and prevent fraud or other illegal activities; and for any other purpose disclosed to you in connection with our Ordering Service.
We may, or we may use third-party service providers to, process and store personal information in the United States and other countries.
All data and statistical information collected by Donatefy will be used and analyzed internally to improve our product.
When we share Personal Information
We do not share personal information with companies, organizations, and individuals outside of Donatefy unless one of the following circumstances apply:
- With your consent. We will share personal information with companies, organizations or individuals outside of Donatefy when we have your consent to do so.
- Administrators. If your Donatefy account is managed for you by an administrator who provides support to your organization, that administrator will have access to your Donatefy account information (including your email and other data). Your domain administrator may be able to:
- View statistics regarding your account
- Change your account password
- Suspend or terminate your account access
- Access or retain information stored as part of your account
- Receive your account information in order to satisfy applicable law, regulation, legal process or enforceable governmental request
- Restrict your ability to delete or edit information or privacy settings
- Affiliates, vendors, and agents. We provide personal information to vendors, contractors, affiliates or other trusted businesses or persons to process it for us or to act on our behalf. These parties are subject to contracts and confidentiality agreements and have no independent rights to use data outside of what this privacy policy allows.
- Marketing/Leads. If you have expressed interest in learning more about our Donatefy services, we may share your contact information with third party partners or distributors for the sole purpose of contacting you about your interest. Such partners or distributors may also inform you about other services that may interest you. If at any time you no longer wish to be contacted about learning more about Donatefy or partner/distributor services, email us at info@donatefy.org.
- Legal process. We will share personal information when we respond to valid subpoenas, court orders, or legal process, or to establish or exercise our legal rights or defend against legal claims.
- Other. We will share personal information with companies, organizations or individuals outside of Donatefy if we have a good-faith belief that we need to do so to:
- Enforce applicable Terms of Service, including investigation of potential violations.
- Detect, prevent, or otherwise address suspected fraud, security or technical issues.
- Protect against harm to the rights, property or safety of Donatefy, our users or the public as required or permitted by law.
We may share aggregated, non-personally identifiable information and de-identified data publicly and with our partners. For example, we may publish data or reports to show trends about the general use of our Services that include aggregated and non-identifiable data.
If Donatefy is involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, we will continue to ensure the confidentiality of any personal information and give affected users notice before personal information is transferred or becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
Cookies
Donatefy uses cookies, web beacons, and similar technologies. These allow us to better understand the usage and traffic pattern of visitors and users on our site and to enable certain functionality on the Ordering Service. While you can manage your cookie settings in your computer or device’s browser, please be aware that certain parts of the Ordering Service may not function properly if your browser is set not to allow cookies.
Note that Donatefy does not take any action when a browser sends us a DNT (do-not-track) signal.
Third Party Data Tracking
We may allow third parties to serve ads and provide analytics services in connection with the Service. These third parties may use cookies, web beacons, and other technologies to collect information, such as your IP addresses, mobile advertising IDs, device information, your general activity on the Service (but never specifically identifying information like your full name, email address). This information may be used by Donatefy and other companies to analyze and track data, determine the popularity of certain content, deliver advertising and content targeted to your interests, and better understand your usage. This policy does not apply to, and we are not responsible for, third-party cookies, web beacons, or other tracking technologies, and we encourage you to check the privacy policies of these third parties to learn more about their privacy practices. Access, Correction, and Retention
You can directly access, edit, and delete personal information and other content you’ve uploaded as part of your Donatefy account. Some information is required in order to have an account like your name, address, and billing information.
If you need to request correction of information that Donatefy has about you that is no longer accessible to you directly online, you may contact us to make your request.
If your Donatefy account is closed, inactive, or suspended, Donatefy may maintain certain information for record-keeping and analysis purposes. While we retain information for these purposes we may, at our sole discretion, delete it for any reason at any time and are under no obligation to maintain it.
Security
- We encrypt data transmissions using SSL technology.
- We have reasonable measures in place to protect the physical security of records we store on our premises.
- We restrict access to personal information to Donatefy employees, contractors, and agents who need to know that information in order to process it for us or as part of their job requirements, and who are subject to confidentiality or employment agreements.
